When I first arrived in Bangkok in 2017, I found it difficult to find halal restaurants in Bangkok. It was not because there are no halal restaurants in Bangkok, but rather, it is because I did not know how to find them! If you search for halal restaurants in Bangkok on google, the only ones that would pop out are the ones catered for tourist. As a result, you would miss out on the essential experience of Thai Muslim life and culture.
The list that I am compiling is intended as a living list that will be updated as required. It is intended to make life easier for the Muslim ex-pats living in Bangkok who are unable to read and speak Thai. Visitors to Bangkok would be able to enjoy this list as well.
Lastly, I compile this list to play my part in helping the local community and the local economy.

Without a doubt, the Cairo Bangkok Restaurant serves authentic Mendy rice. It is the best that I have tasted in Bangkok in over 3 years of living here. Due to the COVID 19 outbreak, I could not visit their restaurant for iftar, but, they did cater for home delivery.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) for the Lamb Mendy, they only have the option to buy a platter with a portion for six people! Regardless, we decided to go ahead and took half of the portion. We sent the other half portion to a friends house for their iftar.
The rice is well spiced and is served with a cold salad of cucumber, lettuce and tomato. It comes together with sour cream, spicy tomato(ish) sauce and potato curry? They also sent over some sweet deserts as well!
When everything normalizes, this shop is highly recommended to visit. It is located in the Suan Luang neighbourhood along the Srinakarin road, Thep Tawi 2 alley. Visit them for authentic Mendy Rice in Bangkok
