Halal Restaurant in Bangkok (Phra Nakhon) - Karim Roti Mataba

Karim Roti Mataba Singapore has its famous Martabak establishment opposite the Masjid Sultan in the Arab Street area. Bangkok, has its equally delicious martabak shop in the form of Karim Roti Matabak a halal restaurant in Bangkok located in the Phra Nakhon area. The shop is established along a quiet road, opposite the Chao Phraya river in an old shophouse. It's visited by locals and tourists alike -- an indication that the food is good, affordable and authentic! The speciality of this shop is the Mataba, Briyani (Khao Mok), Roti Banana and some of its other Roti among others. Located not too far from the Khao San road area, Grand Palace and other important touristic sites. This is a recommended must go shop if you ever end up in that neighbourhood. List of Halal Restaurants in Bangkok

When I first arrived in Bangkok in 2017, I found it difficult to find halal restaurants in Bangkok. It was not because there are no halal restaurants in Bangkok, but rather, it is because I did not know how to find them! If you search for halal restaurants in Bangkok on google, the only ones that would pop out are the ones catered for tourist. As a result, you would miss out on the essential experience of Thai Muslim life and culture. The list that I am compiling is intended as a living list that will be updated as required. It is intended to make life easier for the Muslim ex-pats living in Bangkok who are unable to read and speak Thai. Visitors to Bangkok would be able to enjoy this list as well. Halal Restaurant in Chachoengsao- Doo Pla Cafe

Doo Pla - literally means look (at) fish. We stumbled upon this cafe on our project to look into halal destinations beyond Bangkok. Located about 61km away from central Bangkok, Doo Pla is located in the Bang Nam Sour district of Chachoengsao Province. The area surrounding the cafe is largely rural and agricultural. Which means that along your drive, you would be able to see fields upon fields of paddy and other agricultural produce. Being opened quite recently at the beginning of 2020, there is still some work to do on this land but one could see that it is being done with enthusiasm. When the development is done, visitors would be able to enjoy a variety of activity such as fish feeding, animal petting zoo, looking at organic farm produce, children activities, and just relaxing while enjoying the break away from Bangkok hustle.
